Key Events Term 1

Practical resources and connections for your classroom

We’re delighted to share an exciting line-up of events for Term 1, designed to support secondary school teachers across a range of subjects. Many of these events will include free Teaching and Learning Units (TLUs) tailored for Junior Cycle and Transition Year classes, helping you bring fresh, practical resources straight into your classroom.

Here’s what’s coming up:

  • October 3–4: History Teachers of Ireland (HTAI) Conference – Limerick
Explore how TLUs can align with the Junior Cycle History curriculum. We’ll showcase practical classroom resources to support and enrich student learning.
  • October 8: GET Schools Seminar – Athlone
This seminar focuses on Youth Action, featuring youth workers addressing migration and climate change. Teachers will share their experiences of working with our resources, and students will highlight projects from the ECO-UNESCO Young Environmentalist Awards and Young Social Innovators awards.
  • October 18: Association of CSPE Teachers (ACT) Conference – Athlone
Join our one-hour workshop on how TLUs can support the Junior Cycle CSPE curriculum, with a spotlight on classroom-based assessments and youth action.
  • October 29: Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) Forum – Maynooth
GET Ireland will deliver a short talk on integrating Education for Sustainable Development into classroom practice.

Don’t miss this opportunity to gain practical tools, share experiences, and connect with colleagues nationwide.
