On the 15th of October 2025, a seminar was organised by ARCI (Alliance for Regional and Civil Initiatives, Bulgaria) together with the GET lead partner CISP to host “It’s Global Education Time: Sharing GCE Policy, Research and Practice” — a milestone seminar uniting educators, policy-makers, and researchers from eight European countries. The event spotlighted how Global Citizenship Education (GCE) can be woven into school curricula to empower pupils, not just in Ireland, but globally to understand and act on today’s global challenges — from climate change and migration to inequality and gender justice.
The Sofia seminar is part of the EU-funded GET Project (2023-2027), co-ordinated by Comitato Internazionale per lo Sviluppo dei Popoli (CISP) and partners across Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Poland, Portugal, and Spain. Through dialogue, youth-led activities, and our free Teaching Learning Units (TLUs), GET strengthens connections between policy, research, and classroom practice.
Current GET campaigns focus on developing teacher toolkits, hosting youth action events like “Creates, Connects, Changes”, and running Europe-wide awareness initiatives on the four global themes- migration, climate change, gender inequalities and international inequalities. By promoting cooperation among schools, authorities, and civil society, the project aims to make global education not just a topic — but a habit of mind.
